Sum 41 Loses the Brownsound
Sum 41 guitarist Dave ?Brownsound? Baksh has split with the Ajax-bred pop-punk band, reports Billboard.
“I couldn’t continue on creatively in Sum 41 without being a thorn in the side of the band,” he said in a statement.
Baksh will now focus on launching his new metal band, Brown Brigade.
?The fact is Dave lost interest a long time ago,? said lead singer Deryck Whibley in a posting on the band’s website. ?Not to take any credit away from him, but he really didn’t have anything to do with this band creatively for a long time. I wrote all those riffs and played most of them on the albums. So from a creative stand point nothing is going to change with Sum 41.?
The band is currently working on a new studio album and hasn?t made any plans to find a permanent replacement for Baksh. The new record will be their first proper offering since 2004?s ?Chuck.? A live CD, titled ?Go Chuck Yourself,? was released earlier this year.
