The Wreckers – Leave the Pieces
The Wreckers, consisting of Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp, are modern country with a pop twist, and a little rock and roll tossed in for that extra bite.
Michelle and Jessica met when they were both struggling in the music business. Michelle broke with her 2001 solo release on Maverick, The Spirit Room. Still in her teens, she was swept onto major tours and recruited by legendary guitarist Carlos Santana for Grammy-winning duet, ?Game of Love.? Her second release, Hotel Paper, hit number two on Billboard?s Hot 200.
Michelle invited Jessica to join her on the road after trading emails and indie records. Jessica impulsively said yes, and began singing back ups with Michelle on stage. The two began writing songs on the road, and before they knew it, they had enough material to write their first duo album. The result of these diverse efforts is an album that’s edgy yet rootsy, which emphasizes the common strengths and complementary differences in Michelle’s and Jessica’s music.
Stand Still, Look Pretty, the debut album from The Wreckers, hits stores on May 23.
