A car crash and a drowning.

No I?m not describing Sharon Stone?s career or Basic Instinct 2. This is actually the first scene in the movie.

Basic Instinct 2 is a vanity picture for Sharon Stone to show she?s still got it, and it?s absolute trash.

In Basic Instinct 2, Stone?s character uses her sexiness to seduce a dim psychologist, piss off Lupin from Harry Potter (he?s a cop) and befriend people who end up dying. The message I got from this movie is that Sharon Stone is a sexy attractive woman who can do whatever she wants. Why do I think this? Because the movie hammers this point home every other line.

The dialogue in Basic Instinct 2 is laughable (the audience I was watching it with laughed aloud during most of the movie). There are scenes where Stone will try to look alluring, but the result is, well, someone trying to look sexy. There are also scenes where Stone will enter wearing a jacket, only to take it off to reveal a dress. This will turn the male protagonist on, and he will let her do whatever she wants for him. I?m not lying to you, this happens more then once.

Also to show that her character is seductive and all that, she?smokes when she’s not allowed to! Apparently, the movie was set in 1957, when smoking was sexy.

In the movie, Stone seduces Michael, a psychologist, who is applying for the Douglas Fellowship. We are supposed to think Michael is a top psychologist even though over the course of the movie, I started to question if he wrote his doctoral thesis in crayon.

The movie has its moments, like when you realise that Sharon Stone is really well lit while the rest of the cast?not so much. And you get to hear Professor Lupin call her the c-word.

Basic Instinct 2 aims to be sexy, erotic, suspenseful, and the vehicle that will launch Sharon Stone back onto the A-list.

It fails on all accounts and the movie is a train wreck in every sense of the word.

And in case you?re wondering, no you don?t get to see what made people got to see in the first Basic Instinct. You can, however, see: an anal sex scene, two Sharon Stone sex scenes, multiple scenes of Sharon Stone nude, Sharon Stone repeatedly talking about orgasms, and, of course, the whole Lupin calling her that c-word thing.
