Avril Lavigne Puts Toronto House Up For Sale
Avril Lavigne has put her Toronto house up for sale — and has slashed the asking price.
The Toronto Star was contacted by Lavigne’s real estate agent in hopes of stirring media attention around the pop singer’s home.
“I thought there might be some interest in the fact that Avril Lavigne has put her Cabbagetown home on the market,” Michael DeAngelis of Royal LePage Partners wrote to the Star. “There will be an open house there this Saturday afternoon.”
Lavigne, 21, had been asking $618,000 for the Regent Park house. After 50 days on the market, the price has been chopped to $599,000.
The Star describes the 2,400 square foot home as “oddly suburban for such a rock-and-roll girl ? sectional sofas, glass coffee tables, a china cabinet in the dining room and a big-screen television that dwarfs the fireplace in the living room. Little, white hand towels on rings grace the bathroom; an unfinished pine chest sits at the foot of the bed in the master bedroom.”
It is believed that Lavigne has ditched her Canadian home for a place in Los Angeles with fiance Deryck Whibley of the rock band Sum 41.
