Britney Spears is working on a new album to boost the ?boring? American pop scene.

Spears, who is now anxious to resume her music career, revealed in People Magazine that a new record could be released later this year.

“This may sound weird, but I miss travelling,” she said. “I miss the road, seeing different places and being with the dancers and having fun. That feeling of being on the stage, knowing it’s your best ? I love that. I needed a break. I needed to be hungry again.?

Of the current state of pop music, she said: “It’s been boring. Nothing’s been wow to me.”
