Politician Blasts Britney Spears
The U.S. Transportation Secretary has lashed out at pop singer Britney Spears for the ‘irresponsible’ act of driving with her baby song on her lap.
“No matter who you are, there`s absolutely no excuse for this display — not instinct, not fear, not even reckless paparazzi,” Norman Mineta said at the start of National Child Passenger Safety Week in Philadelphia.
“It`s irresponsible to compromise the safety of a child for the sake of the moment.”
Spears was photographed Feb. 6 driving with her son, Sean Preston, on her lap. She blamed the paparazzi for her behaviour, saying they put her and her son in danger and she had no choice but to act quickly.
“Today, I had a horrifying, frightful encounter with the paparazzi while I was with my baby,” Spears said. “…I was terrified that this time the physically aggressive paparazzi would put both me and my baby in danger. I instinctively took measures to get my baby and me out of harm’s way.”
