Luc Jacquet, the adventurous director whose March of the Penguins waddled off with the summer box office, will tell the story of The Fox & The Child for his next project.

Comingsoon.net reports that an adult female will narrate the film, reminiscing about her girlhood and her friendship with the fox. Nature documentary footage will be combined with the fictionalized story.

Jacquet said he was inspired by his own encounter with a fox when he was 10, and also by Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s classic children’s book The Little Prince.

The film, budgeted at about $13 million, is scheduled for a yearlong shoot beginning in March. Production will take place in France, Italy and Romania.
