A judge has approved Angelina Jolie’s request to add dash Pitt to the names of her two children, paving the way for Brad Pitt to become their adoptive father.

Superior Court Judge Linda Lefkowitz granted Jolie’s petition during a brief name change hearing that was not attended by either Pitt, 42, or Jolie, 30.

“Their names are Maddox Jolie-Pitt and Zahara Jolie-Pitt,” Jolie attorney Evan Spiegel told E! News after Thursday’s court session in Santa Monica.

E! Online reports Pitt is referred to as “the adoptive father-to-be” in Jolie’s petition. Her attorney wouldn’t comment on the possibility of marriage.

Jolie also let it slip last week that she is pregnant with a child by Pitt. While on the set of The Good Shepard, she told an aid worker that she was expecting.

Pitt’s publicist confirmed the pregnancy.
