Black Eyed Peas Fans Left in New Year’s Lurch
As many as 20,000 music fans were left with no where to go for New Year?s Eve in Los Angeles. Giant Village 2006, a concert featuring the Black Eyed Peas and other bands, was cancelled just hours before it was set to go off Saturday night to kick off the New Year.
According to the event organizer?s website, the show was cancelled due to extreme weather conditions. Associated Press reports that city fire officials were worried that a drenching storm in the area would threaten fans and artists using electrical equipment.
One of the outlets that sold tickets to the event, which went for $85 or more each, is now offering refunds to ticket holders. Groovetickets is offering a refund of the face value of the ticket or a “make up events package consisting of multiple events of greater value.”
Those looking for a refund or exchange must e-mail the company by Thursday.
