Rapper Obie Trice, a prot?g? of Eminem, is out of hospital after being shot early Saturday morning in Detroit, Michigan.

Trice was driving on a city highway shortly after 1 a.m. when he was shot at by someone in another car, according to police, the AP reports.

With his girlfriend in the car but not wounded, Trice continued driving his car and exited the freeway. He ended up in Southfield, a Detroit suburb, and his girlfriend found police.

He was treated in hospital and released later the same day.

The AP reports that police have no suspects and are investigating.

Trice is gearing up to release a new album in 2006. He was scheduled to attend last month’s Canadian Urban Music Awards in Toronto but failed to show. Trice is best known for collaborations with Eminem and 50 Cent and for his small role in 8 Mile.
