The Microsoft Corporation will webcast New York City’s Times Square New Year?s Eve 2006 countdown in real time on MSN Video, informationweek.com reports.

This will be the second year MSN Video will carry the broadcast, starting at 7 p.m. EST. The webcast is expected to last six hours.

Unlike last year, however, viewers will be able to choose their own camera angles and the events they wish to view thanks to 26 cameras covering performances all over New York City.

Microsoft said viewers last year spent an average 45 minutes on average watching the live coverage.
