His Purpleness is back and in a big way. Prince has signed a deal with Universal Records to release his upcoming album, 3121. While no official release date has been set yet, Prince plans to tour next year and already has a video shot for one of the CD?s tracks, titled ?Te Amo Corazon? (?I Love You, Sweetheart?).

The music video, starring Mia Maestro of The Motorcycle Diaries and directed by actress Salma Hayek, is available now on his NPG Music Club web site.

Prince is likely best known for ?Purple Rain? and his protest against his record deal with Warner Bros. in the ?90s. His beef with the company drove the singer to release most of his 1990s albums independently through his website.

Prince returned to the public eye with the highly acclaimed Musicology in 2004, manufactured and distributed by Sony?s Columbia Records through a one-off deal. Musicology went multiplatinum and won Prince two Grammys.

Under his new deal with Universal, the company will distribute 3121 and Prince?s future releases, as well as administer his complete 35-album back catalog, which includes Musicology, 1999, Purple Rain, and Batman ? The Motion Picture Soundtrack.

“I don’t consider Universal a slave ship. I did my own agreement,” the 47-year-old Hall of Famer said at a press conference. “I got exactly what I wanted.”
