Joni Mitchell Tribute to Benefit Music Education
Ben Folds, Joe Jackson, Suzanne Vega, Lori Anderson, Neil Sedaka and former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams are among the artists who have signed on for a Feb. 1 concert in tribute to singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, reports Billboard.
Proceeds from the event, which will be held at New York’s Carnegie Hall, will benefit Music for Youth. The foundation fosters innovative music education programs and scholarships for young people.
The show will be produced by Knitting Factory/Music for Youth board member Michael Dorf.
Additional artists are expected to join the line-up. While the semi-retired Mitchell is currently not listed as a participant, Dorf is promising “a few surprise guests,” according to Billboard.
