‘Exhausted’ Colin Farrell Undergoes Drug Treatment
Colin Farrell has checked himself into a drug treatment facility, E!Online reports.
Farrell’s publicist announced that he is being treated for a dependency to prescription medication. He got hooked on pain pills after suffering a back injury, and he is also coping with exhaustion. The Irish actor, who is known for his hard partying, has been hard-working as well – with no less than three movies lined up after he wraps the big-screen remake of Miami Vice.
Farrell was planning to take time off to promote Terrence Malick’s The New World, in which he plays Captain John Smith. But New Line announced that Farrell will skip the film’s premiere and press junket.
The actor has also been in the news lately for his legal battle to block the release of a sex tape he made with ex-girlfriend and former Playmate Nicole Narain. He was granted a temporary restraining order.
After Miami Vice, Farrell will start work on a film called I’m Not There: Suppositions on a Film Concerning Dylan, which features seven actors talking about Bob Dylan’s life, and then the dramas Borgia and Pride & Glory.
