Brad Pitt to Adopt Angelina?s Children
For those of you still holding out for a Brad Pitt-Jennifer Aniston reconciliation, it may be time to give up.
It was pretty much made clear yesterday that Pitt and his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star, bombshell Angelina Jolie, are more than just friends. Pitt?s publicist announced Friday that the former sexiest man alive is seeking to become the adoptive father of Jolie?s two children.
“We are confirming that Brad Pitt is in the process of becoming the adoptive father of both children,” said publicist Cindy Guagenti in a written statement to the Associated Press. “No further comment is being made.”
A legal petition to change the names of the children to Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Maddox Jolie-Pitt was filed Friday in Los Angeles, Guagenti confirmed.
Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, adopted Maddox in Cambodia in 2002. He is now four years old. Zahara, her second child, was adopted in July from Ethiopia. Jolie was accompanied by Pitt on that trip. Zahara is now 10 months old.
Pitt and former Friends star Jennifer Aniston announced their separation in January, and Aniston filed for divorce in March, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized in October.
