Looks like Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson are finally kaput, but that doesn?t mean Lachey can?t be a newlywed anymore.

Lachey, who starred with Simpson on MTV?s ?Newlyweds? for three seasons, is developing a new sitcom with the WB Network. He?ll be starring as a famous baseball player who ? you guessed it ? just got married.

The show is as yet untitled but will be written by the co-creator and executive producer of ?Mad About You,? Danny Jacobson.

In addition to ?Newlyweds,? Lachey has made a few guest appearances on the WB?s fantasy drama, ?Charmed,? last season. We should also be hearing some more music from Lachey soon; he signed a solo deal with Jive Records last January.

Lachey and wife Simpson announced their split last week.
