Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are making a trip together – to visit earthquake survivors in northern Pakistan.

“We’ll be on our way to Pakistan in a matter of days,” Jolie told Reuters after she and Pitt left a private meeting at the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva.

The UNHCR delivered tents and other shelter material to thousands of people left homeless by the October 8 quake, which killed more than 73,000 people in Pakistan. However, winter is setting in and the need for aid remains great.

Jolie became a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. refugee agency in 2001. She has since travelled to more than 20 countries including Sierra Leone and Cambodia, visiting UNHCR headquarters about once a year. This is the first time she was accompanied by Pitt.

The Oscar-winning actress said that her latest briefings had covered the environment, violence against women and trafficking.

Jolie and Pitt, who starred in Mr. and Mrs. Smith together, have both been recently nominated for several People’s Choice Awards.
