Paris Hilton Subpoenaed To Be A Witness
Paris Hilton has been subpoenaed to be a witness in the Darnell Riley criminal case.
Hilton, 24, will not be charged with anything; she’ll just appear as a witness, said District Attorney’s Spokeswoman Jane Robison.
The case involves burglary, robbery, kidnapping and carjacking charges against Darnell Riley, 28. In Jan. 22, 2004, Riley allegedly broke into the home of Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis and attempted to kidnap him.
Hilton’s connection to the case came about after one of Riley’s associates allegedly told her of Riley’s alleged involvement, said Richards, adding: “That was the basis for the probable cause to locate my client’s photo, which coincidentally Joe Francis identified,” reports People.
Hilton?s spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said Hilton will “comply with the law” but “I don’t see what contribution, if any, she’s going to be able to make in that case,” reports People.
Riley is currently in L.A. County Jail awaiting for his preliminary hearing to take place on Nov. 21, after pleading not guilty.
