Michael Jackson No Longer Considers U.S. His Home
In the span of 30 years, singing superstar Michael Jackson has been both embraced and shunned by his country. While Thriller remains one of the best-selling albums of all time in America, Jackson?s father says the singer will likely never make the United States his home again.
“He’ll come back to visit, but not to stay, not to live,” Joseph Jackson told The Associated Press in a recent interview.
Jackson said his son has received a lot of threats in the United States, especially after the King of Pop was acquitted in June of child molestation. Michael?s lawyers have said their client, who now lives in Bahrain, no longer considers his famed Neverland Ranch in California as his home.
“They didn’t treat him right here. I know if I was him, I wouldn’t come back,” his father said.
Michael Jackson is currently working on a charity single for hurricane relief with other celebrity recording artists. His father hopes he will reunite with his brothers sometime in the future to revisit the Jackson 5 sound that made the family famous in the ’60s.
