Eugene Levy and Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City) are just two of the big names scheduled to attend the fourth annual “It’s Always Something” variety show, being held this year on December 5 at Toronto’s Elgin Theatre.

The event will raise money for Gilda’s Club, a free support centre for people affected by cancer. Brent Butt, Colin Mochrie and Canadian Idol Melissa O’Neil have also confirmed. The complete list of celebrities who will sing and perform will be announced soon.

“The past few have been so good. Every year is a little different flavour,” says Judith Wiley, executive director of Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto.

Gilda’s Club was created as a tribute to Gilda Radner, the Saturday Night Live actress who died of ovarian cancer at age 42. “It’s Always Something” was the name of her book, which she completed just before her death.

Wiley says the show brings in about 25 per cent of the money raised throughout the year.

“It’s not just a terrific event,” she says, “but it’s a marvellous way to help the public understand what Gilda’s Club is all about and it’s just a whole lot of fun.”

Tickets go on sale Saturday (October 15) through Ticketmaster by calling 416.872.5555 or visiting ticketmaster.ca.
