The producers of Saturday Night Live are giving Ashlee Simpson another chance.

The recently-turned 21-year-old was invited back to perform, even after she was embarrassed last season when her performance on the show revealed her to be lip-syncing.

Simpson will be the musical guest this Saturday.

Napoleon Dynamite star Jon Heder, perhaps the world’s best actor (just ignore and keep reading), will host.

Simpson was the musical guest late last year when her band started playing the wrong song. She did a shimmy and then left the stage. 60 Minutes happened to be filming a piece on SNL that week and captured her coming off the stage in tears. The backlash could have been fatal to her career, but she has an album coming out later this month.
