Blender magazine reportedly dropped Madonna for a cover shoot in favour of Ashlee Simpson.

Madonna is planning a press tour to support her upcoming release, Confessions on a Dancefloor, and Blender had planned for her to be on the cover in December — until publishers snubbed her for Simpson.

“Madonna was fuming. She never wanted to do Blender in the first place; she wanted to do Rolling Stone,” one anonymous source said. “This put her over the edge.”

Spokespeople for Blender had no comments. Madonna’s publicist said, “She’s too busy healing from her (horse-riding) accident.”

“I was talking to several publications, including Blender,” her publicist continued. “Trust me, you’ll see plenty of Madonna in the weeks to come.”

Simpson will also release a new album, I Am Me, in October.
