Taking on a different type of role than he is used to, Canadian funnyman Mike Myers will star as Keith Moon in a movie based on the late Who drummer’s life.

Roger Daltrey, The Who’s lead singer, will produce the film, giving it instant credibility.

Myers has wanted to star in the movie since 2002, BBC reports, and the movie has been in development for 10 years.

Moon died of a drug overdose in 1978. Some say he was responsible for making the crazy rock and roll life typical.
