Canadian Idol Runner Up Lands Record Deal
It didn’t take Rex Goudie long to land a record deal.
After Melissa O’Neil won the Canadian Idol competition last Wednesday, guaranteeing her a recording contract with Sony-BMG, runner-up Goudie has joined her team.
He signed a recording contract with Sony-BMG Thursday, with his album expected to be released this December, in time for Christmas.
The Newfoundland native is known for wearing his all-white hat at all times.
After last week’s Idol finale, producer John Brunton praised Goudie, calling him one of the nicest people he has ever known.
Goudie has headed back home and will return to Toronto shortly to write and record the album.
