When Vince Carter was granted his demand for a trade out of Toronto, the city was left with a void. That is not a complement to his deteriorating basketball skills (can you get a hint at the bias?), but is in reference to his annual summer charity basketball game, which brought some of the league?s finest players to the city.
The summer was looking bleak, until Steve Nash saved the day.
The Canadian-raised Phoenix Suns leader, and NBA MVP, announced his plans to hold his own charity game in Toronto, and suddenly, Vince became a distant memory.
In late July, Nash and his NBA friends packed the Air Canada Centre for the first and hopefully not last Steve Nash Foundation Charity Classic.
andPOP was on hand at the game and at his party the night before to bring you interviews with Captain Canada himself, Shawn Marion of the Suns, Philadephia’s Andres Iguodala, Raptors Charlie Villanueva and Chris Bosh, and more. Watch the video to hear them speak about NBA parties, what makes Nash special, and how the upcoming season is shaping up.
