Madonna’s ‘Confessions on a Dancefloor’

The artwork for Madonna’s anticipated next album, ?Confessions on a Dancefloor,? has been posted on madonna.com.
The album cover contains a disco-retro look that will be mirrored in the album?s 12 tunes.
The first single, ?Hung Up,? will be available for download Oct. 17, although a 30 second extract of the single will be available as a ringtone download today.
It is rumoured the single contains a sample of Abba?s ?Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.?
The album will hit Canada Nov. 14.
David LaChapelle will direct the first video, and it will be shot in and around London. He has previously directed for artists Elton John, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani and The Vines.
“I want people to jump out of their seats”, Madonna posted on her web site. The album takes Madonna back to her original dance roots. There are no slow songs on this album.
Madonna.com also describes the album?s sound: ?If ‘Confessions’ were equated to a new dance step, it would a stunning blend of musical styles with one foot in the roots of early disco (a la Girogio Moroder/Abba on ecstacy) and the other foot gloriously ensconced in the future of music – a dance step that could only be accomplished by one artist.?
This will be the 10th album for 47-year-old. In addition, she has released several soundtracks and compilations. There is no mention of tour dates posted on her web site, although some fan sites speculate she may tour her new album this summer.
