Eurythmics’ ‘Ultimate Collection’ to Include Two New Songs
Eurythmics’ upcoming best-of album will feature two new songs from the British synth-pop duo.
The retrospective ?Ultimate Collection,? due Nov. 8 via Arista Records, will include the tracks ?I?ve Got a Life? (the first single) and ?Was It Just Another Love Affair??
The two songs are Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart?s first new material in more than five years.
?Annie and I didn’t plan to go in the studio ? she was staying with me in Los Angeles and we seemed to spontaneously write and record some songs,? said Stewart, according to Billboard.
?It was just like the old days, songs coming at lightning speed and recorded and mixed in a week.?
The 19-track ?Ultimate Collection? also features some of the ?80s most enduring pop songs, including ?Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),? ?Here Comes the Rain Again,? ?Would I Lie To You?? and ?Missionary Man.?
The best-of compilation marks the group?s 25th anniversary. Their last album of new material was 1999?s ?Peace.?
