For all you anxious hockey fans, this Labour Day not only marks the last long weekend of the summer, it also signifies one month before the National Hockey League drop the puck to officially kick off the 2005-2006 season.

After the lockout wiped out an entire year of play, the NHL are hoping to rebound is a huge way. To help win back disgruntled fans, all 30 franchises have been scheduled to play on opening night.

With training camp only one week away, rosters are beginning to take shape. General managers around the League are striving to put together a team that can be both competitive and remain under the $39 million [US] dollar salary cap.

While huge signings such as Peter Forsberg signing with the Philadelphia Flyers and Scott Niedermayer signing with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks gained a lot of press coverage, the six Canadian teams have also been making some noise during the busiest off season in League history.
