Britney Spears Releases Statement about Hurricane Katrina
Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Britney Spears released a statement on her web site.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and any other states that might be affected by Hurricane Katrina,” wrote Spears. “All of my family members there are safe and thank you to all my fans for your concern.”
Spears was in L.A. when the hurricane hit. The popstar grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana, and much of her family still resides there.
She often mentions her hometown roots in interviews, and filmed much of her movie Crossroads in-and-around New Orleans.
