30 Seconds to Mars want to be known as a genuine elite rock band, not just actor Jared Leto’s band.

When they released their first album in 2002, the focus was all on Leto.

But somehow, with their second album, “A Beautiful Lie,” released Tuesday, 30 Seconds to Mars are becoming more known as a quartet and less as a an actor’s novelty act.
