At least six shots were fired at a party being held in honour of Kanye West Sunday morning just before 1 a.m., according to MTV.

Rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight was shot in the leg, according to two reports. Police say he is in hospital in good condition, the AP reports.

The party was being held in a nightclub in Miami, home to Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, to celebrate the release of West’s new album, being release Tuesday.

Police have started investigating but would not say if anyone was injured, MTV reports.

Partygoers were celebrating at Shore Club, which was evacuated as soon as police and firefighters got to the scene. People inside the club ran for the doors as soon as a shot was fired.

Kanye West was scheduled to attend the party. No information has been released regarding his whereabouts at the time of the shooting.

andPOP has confirmed that West is in Miami. He is still scheduled to perform at the VMAs Sunday night.
