Canadian Idol: ‘No Time Left For Casey’ in Idol Run
This Wednesday night, Canadian Idol’s top five faced the results that could make or break their shot at the title. It was Casey LeBlanc who received the unfortunate news that she must say goodbye to her chance at instant fame. She took the news like a pro, and although she has struggled for weeks, she was gracious in her final moments.
The show began as it always does with a rehearsed medley by the remaining Idols. This week the competitors charmed the audience with a mix of Guess Who classics, which included “No Time Left For You,” “Albert Flasher,” and “Stand Tall.” They sounded great, but with 3.4 million votes tallied and results ready to be announced, it was hard to appreciate the moment.
Suzi found herself in the bottom numbers once again, as she has for a number of weeks. Casey joined Suzi and was soon eliminated. Casey was emotional, but that certainly didn’t stop her from extending heartfelt thanks to everyone she could think of who helped her along her Idol journey. She told Canada, “This has been fun. I’ve learned so much? All of these experiences are making me.” Casey ended the show singing her Guess Who number “Timeless Love” with confidence and a wide smile.
Next week, the Idols will sing from the hits of “The King of Rock ‘n Roll,” Elvis Presley. With only three weeks left until this year’s Canadian Idol is crowned, the competition is becoming steeper than ever. As Sass told the contestants this Wednesday night, “Now, more than ever, every performance counts.” Tune in next Tuesday night to see the Idols perform tunes from the best selling recording artist in history.
