What’s Ozzfest without Ozzy headlining the tour himself?

Fans will have no choice but to get used to this, as the heavy metal mogul announced Friday that he’ll be retiring from the popular festival.

“After 10 years, the Ozzfest’s name and reputation have been extablished. It’s time for me to move on and do other things,” Ozzy Osbourne said.

Rumours circulated for months hinting that this summer’s tour would be Ozzy’s last citing strained vocal chords as the cause.

Headlining with none other than Black Sabbath, Ozzy cancelled a total of three concert appearances to date-one on July 27 in Holmdel New Jersey, the second on July 31 in Noblesville Indiana and lastly August 2 in Colombus, Ohio.

All cancellations were a direct result of Ozzy’s over-worked voice.

Co-headliners, Iron Maiden took centre stage in absence of Black Sabbath.

No official explanation as to how severe Ozzy’s throat problems are have been released.
