Paparazzi Battle Witherspoon, Britney
Reese Witherspoon and Britney Spears are suffering the paparazzi woes.
Prosecutors say no criminal charges will be laid against the photographers who chased Witherspoon back in April from a gym to her home.
Although the actress was undoubtedly frightened, local authorities said there wasn’t enough evidence to prosecute.
The 29-year-old actress, who shot to fame for her roles in the films “Legally Blonde” and “Sweet Home Alabama,” reported to police that the photographers swarmed her car as she tried to leave Brentwood gym and was almost swept off the road. She claims she continued to be chased even after she made it to her West Los Angeles home, where she lives with husband Ryan Phillippe and their two children.
In the other extreme, Spears could be sued following the incident in which a paparazzo was shot while trying to snap a picture of the pregnant pop-star last weekend.
The paparazzo, who was revealed as Brad Diaz, plans to sue Spears after he had been shot in the thigh by a pellet gun while hiding about 200 metres from her Malibu home.
“This was an uncalled for act of aggression. He (Diaz) could have been hit in the eye and blinded. He could have been hit in the head and killed. It’s not funny. People don’t like paparazzi, but it’s not a good reason to shoot at them,” said a representative from Diaz’s agency.
According to IMDB, Britney says she has no knowledge of the incident, as she was inside the mansion, celebrating her baby shower.
