Microsoft Announces Longhorn’s Official Street Name
Microsoft today announced that its much anticipated next generation Windows Operating System update will be officially named “Windows Vista.” The software giant also said that Beta 1 will be available August 3 for IT profressionals and developers.
Vista is scheduled for release during the second half of 2006, some five years after the release of Windows XP.
More information about Vista will be released at Microsoft’s Developer Conference in September.
Vista has already been delayed by more than year due in part to Microsoft’s shift to focus on making security a number one priority.
