Adoption is the newest trend hitting Hollywood. News of Angelina Jolie’s adopted baby has placed her on the cover of several entertainment magazines.

And now, Jessica Simpson is jumping on the bandwagon. The 25 year-old hopes to make adoption a reality in the next year.

According to the Evening Echo the idea first came to her nine years ago. At 16, Simpson wanted to adopt a child while visiting an orphanage in Mexico.

“That’s what I wanted for my birthday but I couldn’t legally get a baby across the Mexican border,” she said.

There is no confirmation on whether she will adopt outside of the United States but she has said, “I’ll end up doing something which will touch somebody in some way that’s good … through orphanages.”

Despite rumours of divorce, she has been married to pop-star Nick Lachey since October 2002, and was famous for keeping her virginity until her wedding night.

The duo skyrocketed to A-list celebrities after signing onto the infamous ?Newlyweds? reality series. Perhaps someone should remind Jessica that it is possible to make babies too?
