About a dozen copies of the newest “Harry Potter” book were accidentally sold in a grocery store in British Columbia.

J.K. Rowling?s highly anticipated sixth book, ?Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince? landed on the shelves of the Real Canadian Superstore in Coquitlam Thursday and 14 people bought a copy.

?It was an inadvertent error on behalf of one of our staff,? said Geoff Wilson, a spokesperson for the grocery store. The books were subsequently removed from shelves.

The book?s publisher, Raincoast Book Distribution Ltd., discovered the leak when a customer came forward.

The book is to be officially released this Saturday and it?s been planned so that readers, reviewers and even publishers are to read the book at the same time.

But the secrets of the book are still safe. Raincoast obtained a court injunction on Saturday and a BC Supreme Court Judge ordered the 14 customers not to disclose any information regarding the book.

Justice Kristi Gill told them not to discuss the book, copy it, sell it or even read it until the book?s official release this Saturday at 12:01 a.m.

The judge also told the customers to return the books to the publisher, Raincoast Book Distribution Ltd., but they would be returned to them at the time of the official release.

While Raincoast did not say how many of the books were actually returned, they would return the books with J.K. Rowling?s autograph and a gift pack as an added incentive.
