Sir John A Macdonald an Action Figurine
Spiderman, Batman, Barbie and Sir John A Macdonald? One of Canada?s most prominent historical figures is now a doll. Our “hands on” approach towards history has been taken to another level.
The figurine, which is approximately 15 cm tall, comes with its own line of accessories including glasses, a side table and a 20 page informational booklet.
It has been on the market since 2003 but was only carried in small chain stores until recently. Wal-Mart is currently the largest distributor, picking up the product two months ago and sells for about $20.
Nafekh Technologies says the toy is an expression of sentiment and patriotism. ?It?s important for Canadians to be more patriotic because we are fortunate to live in a beautiful and peaceful country,? Andrew Nafekh, the creator told the Toronto Star.
Another representative from the company told CBC although this was not easy to introduce at first, that kids can still relate to action figures.
As well, plans are underway to create other notables in the collection. Up next is Sir Wilfrid Laurier.
