Live 8 kicks off, Motley Crue Member Celebrates Sobriety
Live 8 is off to a strong start, and so is Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx.
The Edmonton Sun indicates today is the band member’s fourth anniversary of sobriety. Sixx and the Crue will perform in the Canadian concert in Barrie.
In the ’80s, Sixx reportedly overdosed several times and was even pronounced dead on one occasion.
Sixx and the band are expected to perform three songs at about 6 p.m.
“I’m very grateful,” says Sixx. “When we were putting the band back together, we were hoping that it would be what it is now.”
Motley Crue reunited in the last year and recently returned from their Red, White and Crue tour.
