Fugees Surprise Performance at 2005 BET Awards
Last year, andPOP broke the news that the Fugees would be reuniting again in 2005. Tonight, we witnessed it as the Fugees performed on stage as the surprise act at the 2005 BET Awards Show.
Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill and Pras had fans out of their seats as they opened up tonight’s award ceremony.
The group sang old classics including: Ready or Not, Fu-Gee-La and Killing Me Softly.
Fans haven’t heard any new material from the group since 1996 when they released, The Score, the biggest selling hip-hop album of all time. It won two Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album and Best R&B Performance By A Duo or Group With Vocal, achieved platinum status 6x and sold more than 13,600,000 albums worldwide.
During the groups break, each member pursued a solo career, achieving many awards and setting new records including five Grammy Awards, and a combined 12x platinum.
A new Fugees album could appear in stores as soon as later this year.
