Cassidy Sitting Behind Bars

As expected, Cassidy, the rapper who tore up the charts with his hit “Hotel” (with R. Kelly), will be sitting behind bars. The young rapper turned himself in early on June 17 as he faces murder charges.
According to MTV, Cassidy surrendered himself to Philadelphia police on charges of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy, weapons possession and reckless endangerment.
He will remain locked up until he is arraigned. Police estimate the arraignment won’t be until late this Friday or even Saturday, until the booking and processing is complete.
When time comes for his arraignment, Cassidy will enter his plea and discussion about bail will commence. As it does for all murder cases, the Philadelphia district attorney’s office plans to request that Cassidy be held without bail. The request, will “very likely” be granted by the judge, said a spokesperson for the district attorney.
Cassidy is one of the suspects who was wanted by police in the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Desmond Hawkins who was shot in the back, and for the wounding of two other men. The two men were taken to hospital where they were treated for gunshot wounds and were later released.
Police claim that Cassidy and two other men were armed with .40 and .45 caliber handguns, 9mm pistols, AK-47 assault rifles and 7.62 mm rifles when they fired on three unarmed men during an argument. The gunfight happened behind a house in Cassidy?s northwest Philadelphia neighbourhood on April 15 around 1 a.m.
Cassidy’s second album, “I’m a Hustla” is scheduled to be released on June 28, but will Cassidy be out in time to see that happen?
