Tom Hanks to Play Deep Throat?
Deep Throat is coming to the big screen… again.
When Mark Felt revealed the 30-year mystery, outing himself as the mysterious Deep Throat who helped bring down President Richard Nixon in the Watergate scandal, many wondered a 91-year-old who kept the secret for so long let it slip now. Now it’s clear: money.
Former FBI man Felt has signed both book and film deals.
Tom Hanks has signed on to produce the movie, which will probably be released by Universal Pictures. Hanks may also play Felt in the movie, though nothing is confirmed.
Peter Osnos, publisher of PublicAffairs, said the book will be called “A G-Man’s Life: The FBI, Being ‘Deep Throat’ and the Struggle for Honor in Washington.”
