Rising rapper Cassidy is wanted for murder and is expected to turn himself into police Friday morning in Philadelphia.

According to MTV, Cassidy (real name: Barry Reese) will be charged with homicide in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old man, shot April 15 in Philadelphia.

His attorney, Michael Giampietro, said Cassidy will surrender Friday. When he does, he will also be charged with weapons possession and conspiracy, said a police spokesperson.

Police say Cassidy and two other men fired shots at three other men behind a house in Cassidy’s northwest Philadelphia neighborhood at around 1 a.m. on April 15.

Desmond Hawkins died and two other men were treated in and released from hospital.

A warrant has also been issued for a second man, but the third man is not known by police.

Cassidy is best known for his hits “Hotel” (featuring R. Kelly) and most recently “I’m A Hustla.” He is scheduled to release an album at the end of June, surrounded by tour dates and promotional appearances.
