The only complaint about the first new Oasis album in three years: it’s not long enough.

Absent from the scene for what seemed like forever, the Gallagher brothers and company return with “Don’t Believe the Truth” (figure out the meaning of the title and you’re inches closer to figuring out the meaning of life).

They resisted the temptation of trying to recreate their past hits like “Wonderwall” by finding a new sound, slightly more reliant on guitars and less on the powerful, dominating frontman.

This is exactly what Oasis fans could have wanted. It’s new, but not completely new. And like any Brit band, they will be compared to The Beatles. But hey, it’s a fair comparison.

“The Meaning of Soul” would not have been created had they not been influenced by The Beatles. In fact, that is one of their standout songs and may have been one of their biggest hits ever. Unfortunately, that song is less than 2 minutes long.

The whole album is less than 50 minutes long, which true, is normal, but it seems much less.

Might this mean a new Oasis album is less than 3 years away?
