The 17 year old daughter of two-time Oscar award winning actress Dianne Wiest has been arrested along with two other girls for their alleged involvement in a vicious attack on a male classmate at the E. 50th Street High School in New York City late last week.

As reported by the New York Post, the three girls had punched and kicked the unidentified male victim inflicting ?substantial pain and bruising,? according to the criminal complaint, before pocketing his fallen iPod and sunglasses, then fleeing.

Emily Wiest faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted for her role in the attack, and is currently released without bail, as a trial date is impending.

When questioned by reporters about her daughter?s involvement, Oscar Star Dianne Wiest denied any knowledge of the incident.

Dianne Wiest, 57 is famous for her two Oscar awards for best supporting actress in her roles under Woody Allen?s directing in, ?Hannah And Her Sisters? and ?Bullets Over Broadway?. Her most recent work involved recording the voice for Mrs. Copperbottom in the 2005 animated ?Robots? movie. Additionally, her past role as Manhattan District Attorney Nora Lewin in court drama ?Law And Order? has contributed to her fame while ironically it is the real life Manhattan District Attorneys who will determine the fate of her daughter Emily.
