Boyz II Men Discuss Past, Present, Future

The list of accomplishments owned by Boyz II Men may never be matched by another R&B group: they broke Elvis Presley’s record for having “End of the Road” stay at number 1 for 13 weeks, then topped that with a 14-week run by “I’ll Make Love for You,” then topped it again with “One Sweet Day,” which stayed at number one for 16 weeks; they won a plethora of awards including a Grammy; and they’re recognized as being the highest selling R&B group of all time.
The group ? now a trio after the deep-voiced Michael McCary left because of back problems ? has been quiet over the past few years, but they’re far from retirement.
Boyz II Men recently released an album with covers of their favourite songs called “Throwback,” plan to re-release their Christmas album with new tracks, and eventually hope to record a brand new album.
The group sat down with andPOP recently outside of Toronto at Casino Rama to discuss their future, their recent album, touring, why their last album wasn’t a commercial success, what male fans do to anger them at their concerts, and more.
