A witness in the Michael Jackson child molestation trial today testified that when he was younger, Michael Jackson molested him.
The man, now 24, is the son of one of Jackson’s former housekeepers. He said the pop singer sexually molested him on several occasions while tickling him in 1990.
He was a witness called by the prosecution to try to show Jackson has a habit of molesting young boys.
The man said Jackson molested him three times at either Neverland Ranch or a L.A. condo, over several years; two times over his clothes, one time reaching into his pants.
Describing the incidents in detail on the witness stand, the man started to cry and asked the judge for a break.
“He was tickling me. I was wearing shorts again,” he said. “He reached on my leg and I’m still laughing and he reached up to my privates.” He described times when he and Jackson were watching cartoons, sometimes sitting on Jackson’s lap, another time lying on top of a sleeping bag, and said Jackson would start tickling him. “I probably did think it was weird, but not super weird, because you were tickling,” he said, recalling times when he was as young as 6 or 7.
After each act of molestation, the man said, Jackson gave him a $100 bill and told him not to tell his mother. No criminal charges were ever filed.
The man said he needed counselling for five years after the alleged incidents.
The boy and his family received a settlement of $2.4 million, according to prosecutors.
Judge Rodney Melville had previously ruled that no mention of Jackson’s past molestation accusations was allowed during this trial. He ruled last week, however, that past evidence showing that Jackson behaved inappropriately with five boys could be presented.
Also taking the stand Monday was Jesus Salas, Jackson’s former house manager at Neverland. He said Jackson toured the house with boys drunk, and sometimes the boys would be drunk.
The trial continues in Santa Maria, California, Tuesday.
