Did you finally get through the busy phone lines to cast your vote last night for your favourite American Idol contestant? Well flex your finger muscles and get ready to do it all over again tonight.

American Idol organizers realized they had a problem when the last three competitors barely got any votes last night. It wasn’t the singers’ faults?they displayed the wrong numbers during the recaps so votes intended for Mikalah Gordon, Anwar Robinson and Jessica Sierra incorrectly went to Anthony Fedorov, Carrie Underwood and Scott Savol.

What’s Fox to do?

The network will be re-broadcasting parts of the episode tonight, with the correct phone numbers, and some new parts live.

So all the votes from last night do not count. The network will be taking new votes tonight, and will vote someone off on a show to air Thursday night.

Shame.
