Canadian Photo Sharing Service Acquired By Yahoo
Yahoo Inc. today confirmed it has acquired Canadian photo sharing service, Flickr Inc.
Flickr.com allows users to upload and share their digital photos by creating their own albums or publishing their photos to personal blogs. Users can upload their files directly from their computer or by using one of the popular camera phones.
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but the service will eventually be built into Yahoo’s upcoming social networking product, Yahoo 360. Yahoo plans to open up its Yahoo 360 service through an invitation only system, similar to the way Google launched GMail.
