When andPOP was in need of a makeover, the site called upon Brian Breslin of Infinimedia to freshen it up. Breslin used his extensive design experience to create something that everyone could have access to.

“[Web designers] see this as an afterthought, not designing pages for those who need assistance in navigating the world wide web,” he says.

His innovation paid off for the web site, but it wasn’t something that happened over night. His success has stemmed from many years of hard work in the computer business.

Prior to running his first web site, Breslin worked in online advertising, which “helped [me] a lot with the foundations of running my own business.”

In 1996, he started the web site Mac-Mania.com, where he distributed computer news and product reviews. “The biggest challenge was keeping up with new technologies and making sure they worked with the old.”

After an unsuccessful attempt at another site, Breslin ended up striking gold with Infinimedia. However, Breslin isn’t stopping there. He says that in 10 years he’d “like to be running a company of [his] own that provides some sort of valuable service to people over the web, and enriches people’s lives.” His ultimate goal is “to inspire innovation, and create good products that people enjoy.”

The challenges Breslin has encountered drive him to find more creative ways to present the content he has to work with. He also embraces the increasing competition in the industry, which he says “is what most real designers look for.” However, the one thing in the business that he does not enjoy is the assumption that web design is “kiddie stuff.”
